Danville City Council members have approved spending $280-thousand dollars for the demolition of 35 structures. The city will use Community Development Block Grant money to fund the work by four local contractors.
Public Works Director Carl Carpenter says all of the buildings are expected to be down and sites cleared by mid-February. City crews have been involved in numerous demolitions…including the removal of some buildings at the Fair Oaks Public Housing area this summer.
