A collision between a car and some farm implement along Illinois Route 49 in Iroquois County Tuesday evening has claimed a life. Illinois State Police say 28-year-old Kevin T. Hansen of Cissna Park was killed when his car crashed into the farm equipment.
Troopers say their preliminary investigation found that a tractor pulling two fully-loaded wagons of grain was turning into some farm property. The car being operated by Hansen rear-ended the rear wagon.
Hansen was pronounced dead at Iroquois Memorial Hospital. The driver of the tractor, 63-year-old Fred Hurliman of Onarga, was taken to Hoopeston Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The crash occurred on Illinois Route 49 at 979 North Road in Iroquois County at around 6:20 p.m.
