A number of special events are set at the Danville Public Library. Here is a list of activities which are all open to the general public:
November is Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month!) Visit www.danvillepubliclibrary.org or like the library on Facebook for Nanowrimo events all month long!
November 11: Discover research strategies, organization tips and more when looking into your family’s history. Genealogy Club will meet from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the Garman Study Room.
November 12: Wee Wigglers story times contain songs, stories, and serious silliness for the youngest book-lovers. Offered on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Program Room, for children from birth up to 24 months, with a caregiver.
November 12: Kids’ Snack Club combines themed stories and snacks to educate children. This week, make a waffle and banana sundae! Kids’ Snack Club meets at 3:30 p.m. in the Children’s Program Room, for children, ages 5-18; children under 8 with a caregiver.
November 13: Preschool Pals Playgroup meets at 10:00 a.m. in the first floor meeting room. For children, ages 2-6 years, and their caregivers.
November 13: Tween Gaming is a chance for children, ages 8-11, to game together in the Children’s Program Room from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
November 13: Book Clubs are Murder! Join our murder mystery themed book club this week as we read Turkey Trot Murder by Leslie Meier. 6:00 p.m. in the second floor conference room.
November 14: Teens, discover your crafty side with art projects every Thursday! This week, make lip balm, 5:00 p.m. in the Makerspace. For teens, ages 12 – 18.
November 14: National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. Join author Patricia Hruby Powell from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators on the topic of “show don’t tell.” This event is from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the second floor conference room.
November 15: Adults, 60 and older, are invited to Coffee Time to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea with snacks, games, and good conversation. This program is held on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the first floor meeting room.
November 16: National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. Join author C. C. Willis as he speaks about writing, formatting, publishing, and more. This event is from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Mad Goat South (701 S. Gilbert).
