For the second time in the past week, firefighters from several departments were pressed into action early Sunday (November 10, 2019) to extinguish a blaze at a grain dryer. Catlin Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from a grain dryer just west of that community when they arrived shortly after 1:00 a.m. Sunday.
Units from the Westville Area Fire Protection District, along with ones from the Tilton, Fairmount, Oakwood, and Sidell Fire and Rescue, were on the scene for about three and a half hours.
It was some of those same departments that battled a blaze late last week that involved a grain dryer west of Fairmount.
