The Vermilion County War Museum is celebrating its 20th Anniversary today (Monday, November 11, 2019) with an Open House and special concert.
It was on Veterans Day 1999 that the museum opened its doors. There were hundreds of items on display then honoring our nation’s veterans – but over the years the museum has received more donations.

There will be an Open House there from noon until 4:00 p.m. today. Admission is free however monetary donations will be accepted to help defray costs of operating the museum.
Then at 5 o’clock this evening the U.S. Great Lakes Navy Band will be playing at Danville’s St. James United Methodist Church in honor of the War Museum’s 20th Anniversary. The concert is free, but those going were asked to get tickets in advance since space is limited. Some tickets were expected to be available during the War Museum Open House, and they may be available at the door.
