Three local men who served their nation and went on to become highly respected in the community have been added to the Kenneth D. Bailey Academy’s Wall of Honor.
Reverend Frank McCullough, Fowler Connell, and the late Frank Atwood were honored during an assembly at the Academy today (November 12, 2019).
Thomas Brown, a middle school teacher at the Academy, noted it is a high honor….
Reverend McCullough served our nation and has been very active in the community. He is one of ‘The Kings of Peace’ which has sought to keep peace in Danville and also provide leadership advice to thousands of local teenagers.
The late Frank Atwood was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He is a past commander of American Legion Post 210 and was very active in the youth baseball program there.
Fowler Connell returned home following his military service during WWII and became a highly-respected sports reporter and broadcaster. He still enjoys doing sports broadcasts on WDAN Radio.
