The Vermilion County Farm Bureau is once again helping area families prepare for the holidays. The Farm Bureau is taking holiday food orders for a variety of items…including two local farm products.
One of the local products is boneless hams from Leidings Meats. Tom Fricke, Public Information Spokesman for the Vermilion County Farm Bureau, notes the award-winning meat supplier is offering maple-cured, smoked Bavarian-style hams which average five-and-a-half pounds.
The other locally produced product is T. Bee’s Honey. The honey comes from the honey bee hives on the Toby Brown farm. It is the same Hoopeston area farm which offers Lingley Brothers Sweetcorn each summer.
Some other items on the Vermilion County Farm Bureau’s holiday order form include nuts and candy, chocolate covered almonds or cashews, and dried apricots.
Items will be available for pick-up at the Farm Bureau office, 1905_C U.S. Route 150 west of Danville on Thursday, December 12, 2019. For pricing and other information visit the Farm Bureau’s website at www.vcfb.info or call their office at 217-442-8713. Orders and payments must be received by Friday, November 22, 2019.
