There is a new candidate for Vermilion County Auditor. Mary Techtow says she was encouraged by co-workers and friends to seek the position on the Republican Party ticket. The past 30 years Techtow has worked in the Vermilion County Highway Department, and says that helped her gain working knowledge of the county budget and accounting procedures. She says that makes her the perfect candidate for the position.
Techtow is a life-long resident of Vermilion County, and adds she believes she has a clear understanding of the fiscal responsibility of the Auditor’s job.
Next Monday (November 25, 2019) is the first day for candidates to file their nominating petitions if they plan to run in the March Consolidated Primary Election. The filing period will run through the following Monday, December 2nd.
