Danville City Council members meet Tuesday evening (December 3, 2019) and are scheduled to welcome a new member plus a new City Comptroller. Items on the agenda include the appointment of James Poshard to become the new Ward 6 alderman. And Ashlyn Massey will become the new Danville City Comptroller.
Massey (shown here) is a Danville High School and Danville Area Community College graduate who left Danville for a while. She has been part of the Vermilion County Treasurer’s staff since returning, and has been Chief Deputy Treasurer in that office since February of 2018.
Poshard will be replacing long-time Danville City Council member Steve Nichols who resigned his seat because he moved outside the ward. Since Nichols was also servicing as Vice Mayor the City Council is scheduled to elect a new Vice Mayor at Tuesday evening’s meeting.
The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building at 17 West Main Street.
