Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police say a man wanted in two homicides is dead. On Sunday, Colorado State Police located 43-year-old Mathew Borden of Melvin driving a stolen vehicle from Iowa. Borden was killed after leading Colorado State Police on a high speed chase before crashing his vehicle and firing at officers.
Borden was wanted on First Degree Murder charges in connection with the deaths of 54-year-old Pamela Williams of Martinton, Illinois, whose body was found Friday morning in a ditch southwest of Sheldon. Borden had also been charged with First Degree Murder in the death of 50-year-old Brian Musk of Milford. His body was found Saturday morning (December 14, 2019) when Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police responded to a report of a burglary at Milford Auto Parts, located along Illinois route one.
Law enforcement agencies in both Illinois and Colorado are continuing their investigation in the deaths.
