It may be winter but the sign-up period begins today (Thursday, January 2, 2020) for the public to rent buildings and shelters at some Vermilion County Parks. They are the ones located at Kennekuk County Park, Forest Glen Preserve, and Lake Vermilion County Park.
The Vermilion County Conservation District is taking reservations starting today for activities all year long at those county parks. The Conservation District says facilities may be reserved for family or class reunions, graduation parties, church and company picnics, group retreats or meetings, or other social gatherings.
Reservations will be taken in person beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Kennekuk Visitor’s Center and the Forest Glen LJK Visitor Center. Or you can book reservations by phone beginning at 8:00 a.m. For rentals at Kennekuk County Park or Lake Vermilion County Park call (217) 442-1691. For reservations at Forest Glen call (217) 662-2142.
Kennekuk County Park offers 3 enclosed buildings, 4 open air shelters, a Chapel, and Gazebo. Forest Glen has 3 enclosed buildings and 2 shelters. And Lake Vermilion County Park has one shelter.
