Danville Police are holding three suspects in connection a vehicular hijacking. All three suspects are young men. One is a 20-year-old and another is 21 — both from Danville. The third suspect is a 19-year-old Chicago man. Their names are being withheld pending the filing of formal charges by the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Preliminary charges against the three include Aggravated Robbery Vehicular Hijacking, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, and Armed Robbery.
Danville Police had received a report of an armed vehicular hijacking at around midnight Sunday morning at a local gas station. Police reports say the robbery occurred at a gas station in the 1200 block of North Bowman Avenue. Police arrested the three suspects shortly after the robbery was reported.
Danville Police were also involved in numerous other calls over the weekend and early Monday. These are just a few of those calls observed by VermilionCountyFirst.com News:
- Danville Police investigated 3 burglary reports early Sunday for which no information is being released.
- Police were called Saturday for a burglary in the 200 block of West North Street.
- Police received a report of the reckless discharge of a firearm on East Main at Tilman Street shortly before 11:00 p.m. Sunday.
- Danville Police investigated an aggravated discharge of a firearm call in the 1300 block of North Gilbert Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. Monday (Jan. 20, 2020).
- Police continue their investigation into some calls from late Friday…including a report of the reckless discharge of a firearm in the 900 block of Sunset Ridge, a child pornography complaint, an alleged criminal sexual assault, and a burglary in the 500 block of North Vermilion.
