Danville Police and Vermilion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested five people Wednesday (January 22, 2020) on weapons charges. And police reports show a sixth person – an 18-year-old Danville male – was taken into custody Wednesday evening on preliminary charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Robbery Indicating a Weapon was Involved, and Theft Over $500.
The others arrested include:
>>> A 27-year-old Danville man who faces charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, having No Firearm Owners Identification Card, and Unlawful Use of Weapons.
>>> A 19-year-old Danville man who was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons and having an Uncased, Loaded and Immediately Accessible Weapon.
>>> An 18-year-old female who was booked on two counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and having an Uncased, Loaded and Immediately Accessible Weapon.
>>> A 21-year-old Urbana man who was arrested by Danville Police Wednesday on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and having an Uncased, Loaded and Immediately Accessible Weapon.
>>> A 19-year-old Danville man who was taken into custody by Danville Police on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and having an Uncased, Loaded and Immediately Accessible Weapon.
Names of those arrested are being withheld pending the filing of formal charges. Other details surrounding the arrests was not immediately available.
And in an unrelated case, Hoopeston Police detained a 13-year-old male on charges of theft of a firearm Wednesday. Police say the youth is from Hoopeston and was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Danville.
