Mary Miller has picked up the endorsement of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz in the upcoming Republican primary.
Cruz, who represents Texas in the Senate, ran against President Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican primary election.
“As one of the most influential conservative members of the U.S. Senate, he has helped successfully appoint conservative judges to the U.S. Supreme Court, passed historic tax reform, advanced our pro-life cause, and protected our right to bear arms,” Miller said. “And he stood strong in the defense of President against the Democrats’ partisan impeachment assault.”
Her opponent, Vermilion County Treasurer Darren Duncan, called Miller out on Cruz’s endorsement. His spokesman, Patrick Pfingsten, said Miller earned Cruz’s endorsement only after hiring his campaign manager, Jeff Roe, onto her campaign staff.
