A Danville woman has been convicted of assaulting a police officer.
Sierra Gaines was found guilty last week on two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and one count of resisting a police officer. The aggravated battery charge is a Class 2 felony with punishment of probation or 1-3 years in prison.
Gaines was chasing a man on May 28, 2019 when Danville police intervened. She scratched the officer in the face and eye.
Sentencing is set for March 16th.
