The Danville Dans have introduced a new season ticket booklet for 2012. This year’s Prospect League season will include 30 home games at historic Danville Stadium.“Our season tickets this year are a 30-ticket booklet,” said managing partner Jeanie Cooke. “These new booklets allow you to have one ticket for all 30 games, or you can use all 30 tickets for one game, or any combination you like.”
The price for the new booklet is currently last year’s $75 price before March 1, or $90 thereafter.
“We’ve added two home games to our schedule this year, so a slight increase was necessary,” Cooke noted. “The $90 price is still half-price for the entire season.”
Danville Dans season ticket booklets are available at The Deluxe Restaurant, 21 W North Street; WDAN studios, 1501 N Washington; and the Danville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau offices inside the David S Palmer Arena.
The Dans open their 25 th season on Tuesday, May 29. There are four home games the first week of the season, concluding with fireworks following the game on Friday, June 1. A total of 30 games will continue throughout the summer, with the regular season ending on Saturday, August 4. A complete schedule is available online at www.danvilledans.com.
“We want the entire community to come out and enjoy the summer with the Danville Dans,” Cooke said.
The Danville Dans are a member of the Prospect League, one of the premier college summer leagues in the nation. The league has twelve teams, from Hannibal, Missouri to Beckley, West Virginia. Baseball players from as far away as California, Texas and Florida join the Dans and come to Danville to improve their fielding skills and batting with wood bats. With this dedication, it is no wonder that some players advance to the major leagues after graduation, including 19 former Dan players.
