Illini Football At Crossroads
by Eric Loy,posted Oct 27 2011 3:04PM
-It's unfortunate, but the Illini football team are at a point where they need another good win to regain standing in the national press. They may not reach the lofty heights of the top 20 again this year, but closing strong - with every win - gets them closer to a better bowl game. Tough way to start on the road at Penn State, but Ohio State was very vulnerable and Purdue certainly could have been a win too.
-Talked with Illini TE/FB coach Chip Long about how the team has reacted to two straight losses, and what the TEs will need to do against Linebacker U's defense:
-We are thisclose to Illini basketball season starting. WDAN will have the broadcast of the Illini men's first exhibition of the year, against Wayne State of Nebraska, Tuesday night. No idea what to expect from this team, I just hope Illini fans are patient with the talented youngsters.
-The Illini volleyball team took a tough tumble to a really good Nebraska team, but it shouldn't affect them in the long run, they are deep and talented, and Coach Hambly says the team has a mature, even mindset. They will be warriors thru the rest of the year.
-Illini cross-country teams are hosting the Big Ten championships this weekend.

Discover the Forest
Did you know that 88% of kids today say they like being in nature, and 79% wish they could spend more time there? Time spent in nature gives children the ability to explore and engage in unstructured and adventurous play, and encourages imagination and discovery. Nature also gives families a place where they can escape from the daily routine, unplug and reconnect with each other in the great outdoors. Please support this campaign and help us encourage families to get back outdoors by visiting www.DiscoverTheForest.org.
