Pageant In The Park
The Danville Chargers Youth Football Team are putting on a Pageant In The Parkm to raise money for their Cheerleaders warm-ups. It will be held May 19 at 12pm at the pavilion at Douglas Park. Join the Vermilion Area Partnership for Unmet Needs on Monday, May 21, 2012 to enjoy great pizza and support a great cause. Supporters of this group are invited to gather or order carry out at any of the three Danville Monical’s locations for the Community Day fundraiser. Danville Area Community College
registration is underway for Summer and Fall 2012 classes. Early Summer classes begin on May 21 and Regular Summer classes begin on June 11. Fall semester classes begin on August 20th. Registration ends a full week before the classes start. Part- time students may register in person with the Admissions Office or via phone at 217-443-8800 for 1-11 credits. Students who are full-time and need advisement should call the counseling/advisement office at 217-443-8750 for appointment/ walk- in hours. Third Annual Bowman Estates Golf Outing

Will hold 6th Annual Poker Run on Saturday, June 2nd you can sign up at the firehouse at 9am Indiana time, bikes will leave at 11:00 Indiana time, 100 miles 5 stops $20.00 per rider, Free t-shirt to the first 150 riders. Vermilion County Animal Shelter Foundation
Annual rummage sale on Saturday, June 2, from 8am to 2pm at the Danville United Church of Christ located on 618 E Main Street, Danville, IL. $3.00 a bag will start at 1pm. Donation are welcome bring your items to the church on Tuesday, May 29th from 5pm-7pm, Wednesday, May 29th from 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, May 30th from 5pm to 7pm and Thursday, May 31st from 5pm to 7pm. We cannot sell large items of furniture, large kitchen appliances, sinks, exercise equipment, outdated computer equipment, paint, chemicals and tires. The 48th Annual Turtle Reunion and Races
The Turtle Club will hold its reunion and races on Saturday, June 2 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm at the Knights of Columbus located on 310 Bryan Avenue, Danville, IL. Spurlock Museum Special Event
On Wednesday, June 20th at 4p.m., textile expert Cynthia Samake will present Andean Knitting and Weaving Update: Textiles from Peru and Bolicia at the the Spurlock Museum. Admission is free. is offering several sports camps in June. The camps include two boys & girls basketball camps, volleyball camp, and sports announcer camp.
Boy's and Girls Basketball Camp will be June 11th-15th from 9AM-Noon. Grades 4th -6th (entering into Fall of 2012) Learn all fundmentals of basketball including shooting, passing, defense, dribbling, rules of the game, and good sportshmanship. Cost $50
Boy's and Girls Basketball Camp II will be on June 18th-22nd from 9AM-Noon. Grade 7th-12th (entering into fall of 2012) There will be individual instruction in the techniques of offense and defense at all positions. Instruction on shooting, passing, defense, dribbling, and teamwork will be emphasized. Campers will receive a t-shirt, prizes for contests, and certificate of completion. Cost $50
Sports Announcer Camp will be on June 25th-29th from 12:20PM-4:30PM. Grades 7th-12th (entering into Fall of 2012) Participates will recieve a t-shirt, evaluation form, and certification of completion. You will be instructed by WDAN Radio Sports Announcers, and have special guest speakers from the broadcasting community. Instruction will consist of classroom, lab, and live play by play. Cost $60.
Volleyball Camp will be on June 25th-29th from 9AM to Noon for grades 5th-12th (entering into Fall 2012) Participants will receive a t-shirt, evaluation, and certificate of completion. DACC players and coaches will teach serving, volleying, setting, spiking, and the mental approach to Volleyball Cost $50.

14th Annual Poker Run
The Friendly Tavern located on 216 E. South Street Danville, IL and The Danville Firefighters will have their annual poker run on Saturday, July 7th pre-registration will begin on July 2nd or you may register the day of the event from 10am-noon. $15.00 a hand, includes meal. Dodi Bone to play after the ride. Will also have a 50/50 drawing, raffle, food and prizes.
