Vermilion County Basketball Tournaments

The 2014 Vermilion County Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments are coming to the Palmer Arena in Danville January 18-25, and every game will be available here on
This year's tournament will be a round-robin format, with teams playing 2 or 3 games in their 'pool,' and then the top 3 teams in each pool will meet on the final night of each tournament.

You'll find the schedule of games below, and if a game will be featured on-air, the station that will broadcast the game will be listed to the right,whether that is 1490 WDAN, or 94.9 K-ROCK.

YMCA Swim Classes

The Danville Family YMCA is offering a variety of swim classes for all ages. Each session is 6 weeks long with one class per week. VBS at Crossroad Christian Church

Basket Raffle

Bismarck Women's Club will be having a basket raffle in conjunction with the Bismarck Lions Club Fish Fry, Saturday, August 2 at Bismarck High School from 3:30p - 7:30p. Tickets may be purchased; $1 for one ticket or 6 tickets for $5. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards community projects and scholarships.  

Adult Flag Football Tournament

The YMCA is now accepting applications from men and women ages 18 and up for its Adult Flag Football Tournament which runs August 8 and 9. The cost to participate in the tournament is $250 per team. The winning team will receive a cash prize. Registration is open until August 6 at the Danville Family YMCA or online at

Cheeseburgers and Fun

2014 Cheeseburgers and Fun:  Saturday, August 9 at the Bunker Hill Historic Area at Kennekuk County Park, sponsored by the Vermilion County Conservation District Foundation. Free admission for a day of music, the annual Bunker Hill Run, sponsored by five area car and tractor clubs, food vendors and the VCCD Foundation Cheeseburgers beginning at 4 pm. For details visit
